For the graduating class of 2013, these two things are most likely to be on their priority list.
  1. New Career
  2. New Car
Here at Valley Motors we can't help much with your career decisions, however, we can help you with finding the best cars for your future! Today we provide a list of 5 cars that have been recommended by various sources that suggest the best vehicles for college grads and their new adventures.

1. Honda Civic 2010 Sedan.
Comfortable, Fuel Economy, and Quality Build. These are the main reasons why a grad would want to go with the Honda Civic. Knowing that the option of cruising across the country for a future job in this reliable car is appealing.

2. Toyota Prius 2009
Fuel Economy really doesn't get any better than this. If you're taking a new job that suggests a lot of travel, the Toyota Prius is for you. With a great amount of interior space, not to mention all the latest high tech gadgets involved, the Prius would be the best traveling companion.

Traveling on Memorial Day Weekend

TIPS FOR TRAVELING

Taking advantage of that extra day off this weekend sounds great. It opens up possibilities to visit family, experience the great out doors, or taking time off for a mini vacation. Whatever the reason is for your holiday travels, please remember to drive safe this weekend.

Taking precautions before you leave this weekend could be the difference between a happy get-a-way or a weekend disaster. Here are the easiest ways to prevent those pesky, problematic issues.

  • Check your battery, especially if its a few years old
  • Top off fluids
  • Check the tire pressure

More Advice
Looking at your weekend budget would be wise for fellow vacationers this weekend as well. This doesn't mean you have to find a use for every penny but a good overall understanding of hotel and restaurant prices would be a great head start. As you have heard, time is money, and thinking that way on the road wouldn't hurt. Traveling during off hours of the day would save you time on the highway and freeway, meaning better mpg, translating into more money in your tank.

Last of all, preparing for the future weather forecasts is a must. Mother Nature tends to have a sense of humor during the days we plan special events. Being prepared for anything would keep that vacation smile on your face for the whole weekend.

Relax, enjoy your time off and celebrate the holiday weekend the best way you know how!

The Unstoppable "Tweel" Tire

New airless tires. What is this nonsense?

Michelin announced this airless tire called, the "Tweel".

This tire could be the next revolutionary step in the tire industry.
Checking the tire pressure can be a nuisance. Most of us don't check our tire pressure near as much as we should these days. With our busy schedules and rushing out the door every minute most of us are happy to find enough time to fill up the gas tank! With an airless tire, well, obviously you don't have to worry about that anymore.
Pneumatic (your regular tires) tires are always changing. Tire pressure slowly goes down over time, the temperature is a constant variable, and who knows when your going to drive over a nail. With "Tweels" under your vehicle, you wont have to worry about that nail anymore. Solid performance overall.

However this new evolution of the wheel is still in development and is not perfect. At speeds of 50+ mph there is an increased change of vibration, which is worth mentioning for safety reasons. At higher speeds there is also an increased overall temperature of the tire as well. As you can see there are a few bugs to be worked out, but there are more companies competing than just Michelin on this concept.

To read more about the Tweel check it out here.

Tips & Tricks for High School Grads

High School graduation is almost here! Along with the celebration of high school graduation comes more inexperienced drivers on the road. This post isn't about dissing those new drivers that might be reading this today, but more of a quick help guide.

Police Officers

Getting pulled over by an officer has to be one of the most traumatic things that could ever happen to a teenager, I am sure of it. I have seen crying, cursing, and deep depression take place of a teenagers mind all at once before the officer even gets to the window! As funny as it may be at times, i'm sure preventing this event would make many more teenagers happy.
  • Speeding. In the biggest of cities, officers are not worried about people getting the best mpg or beating the clock on freeways. Instead, they are worried about "Millage Death Rate" which is how many people die on the freeway per mile. When you look at speeding in the cost of death, the reward of being somewhere merely minutes before doesn't seem as great anymore. Besides, if you don't speed 10+ over the speed limit you don't have to worry about cops or dying and can think about driving safely to that amazing boy/girlfriends house!
  • Cellphones: It's not that hard, really. Texting shouldn't be happening we all know this. Depending on your location phone calls may be out of the question as well. That is, unless, you have a car that's capable of hands-free-bluetooth. This is an easy way to get pulled over.
  • Road RAGE! Yes, even the most petite of young women can be a force to recon with when she's behind the wheel of a Ford-150 or one of these bad boys.. "That guy just cut me off!" or "That dummy didn't even see ME!" are common reasons why drivers get mad. To show them a lesson you race right up against their rear bumper going 85 mph with eye's wide and bloodshot yelling profanities. This is only going to get you a lovely conversation with an officer or dead on the side of the highway. Please, just breath a few times, sing a happy song and continue driving. If you're the one that encourages road rage because of your own absentmindedness, make a big "SORRY" sign on a piece of paper with rainbows and butterflies and hold that up to your window. I'm sure all road rage will dissipate in seconds when they see that wonderful little board of yours.
Overall, most of you young drivers will learn quickly and become great drivers soon enough. Please be  careful out there and have fun!

Top 3 Sedans for Big and Tall Drivers

Lets face it, squeezing into a smaller car can be a pain. The previous thoughts of sacrificing a little leg room for mpg and reliability on that older car is probably a decision that you are regretting by now. I am here to tell you today that you do not need to sacrifice any longer! With these three vehicles, the luxury of legroom isn't as far off as you thought...

#1 Nissan Altima Sedan of 2010.
The leg room this sedan offers for the driver, rivals the leg room of a backseat passenger in a Limo. It is simply spacious. Combining the versatile steering wheel and seat options, everyone can find their perfect fit. With it being a reliable car and averaging 23/32 mpg this would be an ideal vehicle for everyone.

(36" inseam here people, this car has legroom!)

#2 Chrysler 300 Sedan of 2006
Luxury and bold styling have combined to make the Chrysler 300 one of the best vehicles for giants out there. The Chrysler 300 also rates high on safety features as well, adding some peace of mind.

#3 Lexus ES 350 Sedan of 2010
The cream of the crop for those wanting a spacious interior and advanced styling. Powerful, smooth, and high quality materials all describe this Lexus ES perfectly. Although the price is a bit higher than the previous two vehicles, the silky dynamic feel of the Lexus ES seems to melt those numbers away...
